School Writing Campaign

LekhanKala.org is launching the School Writing Campaign to promote reading, writing, creativity, and responsible expression among students. The campaign encourages students to become confident writers, critical thinkers, ethical journalists, and responsible digital citizens.

The campaign establishes School Writing Clubs that provide students with opportunities to develop skills in creative writing, storytelling, essay writing, poetry, journalism, and leadership within a supportive, collaborative environment.

The campaign offers structured training through programs, workshops, literary events, journalism projects, leadership activities, and digital publishing opportunities.

Students are encouraged to enhance their creativity, communication, critical thinking, and digital responsibility by sharing their ideas on print and digital platforms.

LekhanKala has established 14 School Writing Clubs across Nepal. Building on this foundation, we aim to expand the network to at least 100 schools by the end of 2026, creating one of the country’s largest school-based writing and creative learning networks.

Through collaboration with schools, teachers, parents, communities, and partner organizations, the School Writing Campaign aims to nurture a new generation of creative, informed, and socially responsible young people who use words, imagination, and leadership to drive positive change in their schools and communities.

Concept of School Writing Clubs

School Writing Clubs are student-led communities that encourage creative writing, storytelling, essays, poetry, journalism, reading, and other literary activities among children and youth.

They provide a safe, inclusive environment for students to develop writing skills, express creativity, and build confidence through meaningful experiences.

The clubs engage students in a range of educational and creative activities, such as story and essay writing, poetry, journalism, reading sessions, book discussions, public speaking, debates, literary events, competitions, workshops, and digital publishing.

These experiences enhance communication, critical thinking, research, collaboration, and leadership skills, while fostering a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing.

School Writing Clubs also support media and information literacy, digital citizenship, ethical journalism, and responsible online communication. Students learn to think critically, verify information, communicate responsibly, and use digital platforms creatively and ethically.

Students gain an appreciation for Nepal’s cultural heritage, respect for positive social values, and an understanding of diversity, helping them become active, responsible citizens.

The clubs offer students opportunities to share their voices, inspire others, and contribute to their schools and communities.

At LekhanKala.org, we believe every child has a story worth telling. Through our School Writing Clubs, we are building a nationwide movement that empowers children and youth to become confident writers, creative thinkers, ethical journalists, compassionate leaders, and responsible digital citizens who use words to create positive change in Nepal and beyond.

Importance of Digital Publication

Digital publication offers students a platform to share their writing, opinions, and artwork with a wider audience.

It encourages young writers and creators to express themselves confidently, develop a sense of purpose, and take pride in their work.

Publishing student work on LekhanKala.org builds confidence, motivation, creativity, and public self-expression.

It shows students that their voices are valued beyond the classroom, inspiring them to write more, think critically, and engage with their schools and communities.

Digital publication supports student journalism, creative writing, and youth-led content creation, while helping young people communicate responsibly online.

AI and Original Writing Policy

LekhanKala.org maintains that meaningful writing is founded upon human creativity, originality, and authentic expression.

Children, young people, and educators are encouraged to develop their own ideas, experiences, critical thinking, and unique voices while using technology responsibly.

The ethical, transparent, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is promoted to support learning and creativity, rather than as a substitute for independent thinking or original work.

AI may assist with research, brainstorming, language improvement, editing, and learning; however, all writing submitted to LekhanKala.org must reflect the author’s own creativity, understanding, and perspective.

LekhanKala.org enforces a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, copyright infringement, and academic dishonesty.

Contributors are required to produce original work, properly acknowledge sources, and respect intellectual property rights.

Content that is copied, misrepresented, or generated by AI and presented as fully original may be rejected in accordance with editorial and ethical standards.

This policy seeks to cultivate a culture of academic integrity, creativity, ethical use of AI, responsible digital citizenship, and lifelong learning.

The objective is to empower a new generation of writers who combine human imagination with emerging technologies to create authentic, meaningful, and socially responsible content.

Potential Social Impact

LekhanKala.org aims to establish lasting social impact through fostering reading, writing, creativity, and lifelong learning among children and youth in Nepal.

Its learning programs and community initiatives enable learners to become confident writers, creative thinkers, ethical journalists, responsible digital citizens, and empathetic leaders.

LekhanKala.org promotes creative writing, storytelling, school journalism, media literacy, digital citizenship, leadership, and parental engagement.

These projects help young people strengthen essential skills in communication, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and responsible decision-making.

Through School Writing Clubs and partnerships with schools, educators, parents, communities, and organizations, LekhanKala.org builds an energetic learning ecosystem that promotes creativity, strengthens literacy, and empowers future generations.

Our vision is to nurture a generation of knowledgeable, confident, compassionate, and socially responsible individuals who use words, imagination, and knowledge to create positive change in their schools, communities, Nepal, and beyond.
